On paper, this mix is a tricky one to sell.
What Zedvantz has done here is take a selection of ragtime/dixie style jazz beat tracks and blended it into one blinding 30 minute mix. With a style of music such as this one I’d argue that its a VERY thin line between brilliance and twee drive. However Zedvantz negotiates that line with aplomb, delivering an exhilarating listen that can’t help but get you nodding your head, whilst drawing attention to a fairly small but brilliant line in obscure twists on a classic genre."

DJ Zedvantz displays a crate digger’s determination with these choice cuts. Most of it was beyond my repertoire, but i did catch a snipped of “Meet Miss A” from The Letter People (the A-Ko remix, if i’m not mistaken), which always is a nice touch for the blunted Gen Xers amongst us.

The influence of jazz on hip-hop is never as evident as on cuts of the latter that sample the former, and that legacy in transition is rarely as fully fleshed out as on Turntable Jazz, a recent mix by DJ Zedvantz. Blogosféra patří mezi nejzajímavější místa virtuálního světa. Vytvářejí ji fanoušci pro fanoušky, a tak je jasné, že pro vás mají vždy to nejlepší. Při mém posledním surfování po blozích jsem narazil na mixtape se zajímavě znějícím názvem Turntable Jazz.
Dílo Turntable Jazz zcela vystihuje jeho jméno. Jedná se o mixtape, který propojuje staré jazzové šlágry s hiphopovými groovy, jedná se o mixtape, kde DJ mluví rukama. Zedvantz namíchal Turntable Jazz již v loňském roce. Vzhledem k tomu, že jsem na českých webech neobjevil jedinou zmínku, která by se ho týkala, rozhodl jsem se, že ho nemůžu nezprostředkovat dál. Turntable Jazz je totiž především naprosto úžasný.
